Bullying is bad on any level but when it comes to our children it should never be tolerated!
One day when I was teaching D.A.R.E (Drug, Abuse, Resistance, Education), at school during recess, I observed two larger boys bullying a smaller boy.
It is never too early to start preparing your children for the roads ahead of them.
After going to many schools and watching bullying over and over again, I knew it was time to start on this book. I didn’t want to write a book that would scare children but give them the knowledge and understanding of what bullying was and how to protect themselves.

I felt that a book like this would be well received by parents and teachers especially for the younger children before they entered school.
Together my friend Sharon Chandler, an elementary school counselor, and I wrote Bobby and Mandee’s: Too Smart for Bullies. The message of this book is to inform children that no matter how bad the situation is or what the bully has said to them, they need to know that it is safe to tell their parents, teachers, friends, policemen or any trusted adult.

This book is written so younger children can understand that bullying should not be kept a secret.
Please also remember that adults can also bully our children and it should be reported to the police department right away. Bobby and Mandee’s: Too Smart for Bullies should be read and discussed periodically with children to keep all of the valuable tips fresh in their minds.
Our children are the most important part of our future and let me help keep your children safe.

Guest post: Bob Kahn has a Master’s Degree in Education. He was a sixth grade teacher for ten years. He became concerned with the drug and gang problems that are plaguing our nation. He became a D.A.R.E. instructor. While teaching D.A.R.E., he perfected a program he calls “too smart for strangers.” His program has foiled twenty-two stranger abductions. His first book Too Safe for Strangers is based on this program. His other books on children’s safety reflect his knowledge of working with children and helping them deal with today’s problems. He lives in Nevada with his wife Kandee and two children Bobby and Mandee (of course).
